Tariq making his mark in England

Today, our spotlight is on Tariq Uwakwe, a young Nigerian who is gradually making his mark in English football.
Tariq Uwakwe is a promising Nigerian boy, born in north London, England, Tariq who plays mostly as a central midfielder joined the Chelsea FC Academy as an Under-9.

He is considered a very versatile player, in that 2015/2016 season, Tariq made 6 appearances for the Chelsea Under-18 team. In the next season, the young lad played an important role in the under-18 team as Chelsea youngsters won three different competitions. Tariq scored the winning goal of the game as Chelsea beat Liverpool 1-0 away in the league merit round, a key result in the teams title-winning run.

The midfielder made 42 appearances in all competitions for the Chelsea Under-18 team in 2017/18 season, scoring home and away to help the team beat Birmingham City 7-0 on aggregate in the youth cup semi-finals, he also made his UEFA Youth League debut in the same season.

Tariq made his England Under-19 debut in a 7-1 victory over Poland in September of 2017.
The 18-year-old was a member of the England team that won the 2017 Toulon Tournament by beating Ivory Coast in the final.
We look forward to seeing him play for Nigerian in the very near future.
